Conference Venue

The conference takes place at the Royal School of Mines, a Grade II-listed Edwardian building in South Kensington, London. The main entrance is on Prince Consort Road, close to the Royal Albert Hall.

Getting There

By Underground

The nearest station is South Kensington, on the District, Circle and Piccadilly lines. From the station, follow the pedestrian subway signposted to the museums, or walk north along Exhibition Road, then turn left into Prince Consort Road. Gloucester Road station is also within walking distance.

By bus

Several London bus routes stop within easy walking distance of the venue. Use the Transport for London journey planner to find the best route from your accommodation.

From London Heathrow Airport

Take the Piccadilly line directly to South Kensington. Alternatively, take the Heathrow Express to London Paddington, then the Circle line to South Kensington.

From London Gatwick Airport

Take the Gatwick Express or a national rail service to London Victoria, then the District or Circle line westbound to South Kensington.

From London Stansted Airport

Take the Stansted Express to London Liverpool Street, then the Circle line to South Kensington.

From London City Airport

Take the DLR to Canning Town, the Jubilee line to Green Park, then the Piccadilly line to South Kensington.

By Eurostar

From St Pancras International, take the Piccadilly line from King's Cross St Pancras directly to South Kensington.

By taxi

Licensed taxis are available across central London. Airports are a long distance from the city centre, so a taxi for the whole airport journey is not recommended; if you do take one, confirm the cost before you travel.

By car

Parking near the venue is severely restricted, and driving to the venue is not recommended. Street parking in the surrounding area is limited and time-restricted.

About the Host City

London is one of the world's great centres of science, medicine and public health, with centuries of history visible in its streets, parks and landmarks. The venue is in South Kensington, a district known for its museums, including the Science Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, and is a short walk from Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. Registration for in-person participants includes a free guided tour of London.
